Restorative Justice in Malaysia: Law and Social Work is a compilation of nine papers, five of which were presented at the Seminar Kebangsaan Mengenai Keadilan Restoratif Bagi Kanak-Kanak Di Malaysia Dari Perspektif Undang-Undang Dan Kerja Sosial 2018 (National Seminar on Restorative Justice for Children in Malaysia from the Perspectives of Law and Social Work 2018). The essence of the discussions in this book is to create an awareness on the concept of restorative justice among the public, in particular, the application of this concept as an alternative to the conventional criminal justice management concerning children in conflict with law. This book offers inputs regarding the practice of restorative justice from the legal and social work standpoint. Various methods, approaches and strategies regarding restorative justice are discussed in this book. It is also interesting to note that the contributors have also looked at various jurisdictions , for example England and Wales, Sweden, Austria and Thailand, to name a few, in discussing their ideas, views and recommendations. It is our hope that this book will be beneficial not only to those in the legal community but also those in the social work circle and the public at large.
