THIS BOOK is essentially a study of bilateral relations between Vietnam and Malaysia during the Cold War period when politics came to be dominated by ideological differences. It is also a study of Vietnamese foreign policy under different political order and of its relationship with Malaysia.
The author traced the development of this relationship and reconstructed its ebb and flow. While this bilateral ties was broadly shaped by the many facets of Cold War and big power politics, the author was able to show local factors such national and regional interests playing a part in determining the directions of this relationship. This book caters for those who wish to have a better understanding of Vietnam as well as of Malaysia's involvement in Vietnam.
