Globally countless visually impaired people finding it difficult to secure jobs as employers feel that hiring a visually impaired person may cause a decline in the productivity of their organization. This claim however often unsubstantiated and visually impaired people continue to face difficulty to secure employment. This book uncovers the obstacles and challenges faced by visually impaired people in three stages: the pre- employment  stage, the initial stage of employment, and the current stage of employment. The aim is to better integrate them into the Malaysian labour market. While they face substantial obstacles and challenges, the role of technology has been instrumental in enabling them to do tasks they were not able to do before. Technology facilitates their integration into the Malaysian labour market. This paves way to realize ‘leave no one behind’ the central, transformative pledge of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
