Asian governments have chosen a path towards an energetic uptake of information technologies (IT) and placed special importance to the expansion of information services in their countries. Governments look seriously into the development of IT because it is seen as synonymous with economic and social development. It is seen as the motivator and influencer of economic growth.
This book is based on a report entitled “A Comparative Study of Asia’s High Technology Projects: Focus on Malaysia’s Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC), Singapore One and India’s Infotech Industry”. It draws upon exhaustive research and fieldwork carried out in those countries. It examines policy applications and emerging high technology models that a global information network has brought to Malaysia, Singapore and India. In addition, this book also discusses comparisons of policy implications, promotions of the infocomm industry and progresses achieved thus far.
