The common physical effects that support various
photonic dynamic devices and the large variety of
existing integrated micro- and nanophotonic dynamic
circuits are reviewed. A general overview is provided of
existing devices technologies and cover photonics topic
where various micro- and nanophotonics are integrated
on a chip together with nonphotonic microelectronic
components. It is dealt with large variety of components
and focused on physical studies and optical devices.
These perform a role that is similar to role of
optoelectronics, while acting as the rst evolution phase
towards fully integrated light-wave processing circuits.
